ITYT: If you could draft one player from each SEC team...

On the latest episode of the Saturday Roundtable on the Inside Texas YouTube channel, Joe Cook, Ian Boyd, and Charlie Williams assess which players they might poach from Southeastern Conference rosters to help the 2024 Longhorns.

The exercise, one Joe Cook went through in this article on Inside Texas, has multiple goals. It mainly functions to identify star players on SEC rosters but also as an entertaining one. What if Texas was able to take Florida’s quarterback of the future away, or Georgia’s top defensive back, or quite possibly the best EDGE in the nation from the Tennessee Volunteers.
Cook leads Williams and Boyd through the exercise, going through each SEC team. Boyd and Williams have plenty of opinions and are often looking for defensive tackles. When it comes to Texas A&M and Oklahoma, Boyd has a humorous way of “welcoming” former Aggies and Sooners to the Longhorns.
There’s no downside for Texas in this hypothetical situation as the Longhorns are the only ones doing any poaching, and teams like, say, South Carolina can’t do anything to defend their roster.
