Kickoff times revealed for the 2024 Red River Shootout, home game versus UTSA
The Southeastern Conference announced two early-season kickoff times and television partners for Texas Longhorns football games as part of their first season in the league.

The Red River Shootout versus Oklahoma received a 2:30 p.m. Central kickoff time. The game will air on either ESPN or ABC on October 12. This is the first time since 2017 that the Red River Shootout is not at its traditional 11 a.m. timeslot.
The Longhorns’ September 14 home game against the UTSA Roadrunners will kick off at 6 p.m. Central. The game will air on ESPN.
These games join other previous announcements. Texas will open the season on August 31 against Colorado State at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN. The Longhorns will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. the following week on September 7 to face the defending national champion Michigan Wolverines in Michigan Stadium. That game will kick off at 11 a.m. and air on Fox.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian spoke about the schedule in early May, calling it an “awesome schedule and one we’re looking forward to.
“I do think we have a very talented football team that has a really challenging schedule coming up,” Sarkisian said in early May. “It’s finally here. We finally get to go to the SEC, right? This has been ongoing now for three years, the talk of going to the SEC. Now it’s a reality.”

Per release, the SEC Championship Game take place on Saturday, December 7 and will continue to kickoff at 3 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ABC for the first time since the 2000 SEC Championship Game.
