Lance Jackson named to the 2025 SEC All-Freshman team
Freshman EDGE Lance Jackson was named to the SEC’s All-Freshman team on Thursday. Jackson, a product of Texarkana (Texas) Pleasant Grove, was the only Longhorn to earn all-freshman honors from the SEC.
A 6-foot-5, 254-pounder, Jackson played in all 12 games in 2025. He logged 15 tackles with 2.0 tackles for loss and two sacks. He also was credited with four quarterback hurries.
Jackson split the game-ending sack with Brad Spence versus Oklahoma as part of a two tackle day. His most productive outing was at Mississippi State, where he had three tackles including 0.5 sacks.
Jackson was ranked as the No. 19 overall prospect, the No. 2 EDGE, and the No. 6 player in Texas in the 2025 Rivals Industry Ranking. On3 ranked Jackson as the No. 5 overall prospect, the No. 1 EDGE, and the No. 2 player in Texas. He was the the third highest-ranked member of Texas’ No. 1 2025 class behind Jonah Williams and Justus Terry according to the Rivals Industry Ranking.
