LIVE UPDATES: No. 1 Texas takes on No. 3 Ohio State

The Buckeyes run the rest of the clock out and that’s all from Columbus. Texas drops to 0-1 with a game against San Jose State coming up next Saturday.

Manning misses two throws on 2nd and 3rd down before coming up just short on a pass to Endries on 4th. 14-7 OSU with 1:27 left to go. Victory formation.

The QB and TE connect for 30 yards to the OSU 45. Two-minute timeout hits right after. Texas needs 55 yards in two minutes with 1 TO.

A great punt from OSU sets the ball at the Texas 15. With 2:26 left and one timeout, Manning and company have a drive ahead of them.

The Longhorns stop Ohio State for a 4th and 5 on OSU’s own 30. Texas calls a timeout with a punt likely on the way.

Manning finds Livingstone deep down the sideline for the first touchdown of the season. The Longhorns make it 14-7. The call is upheld after review.

OSU drains the clock down to 4:10 before punting it over to the Longhorns. Texas needs 60 yards on this drive, and another touchdown, for any hopes of winning this one.

Manning looks towards Parker Livingstone but it’s broken up by OSU’s Davison Igbinosun. Turnover on downs for Texas as the score remains 14-0,

Texas has a 4th and 3 at OSU’s nine-yard line. A touchdown is needed on this drive to keep hopes alive.

The interception is overturned. Texas returns on 2nd and 10 at the OSU 43.

The offense drives into OSU territory, but a dangerous Manning throw is broken up and intercepted by Sonny Styles diving on the ground. Texas is held scoreless again. 10:36 left on the clock down 14.

Ohio State WR Carnell Tate makes an unbelievable catch over Texas’ Jaylon Guilbeau, corralling a 40 yard pass from QB Julian Sayin. 14-0 Buckeyes with 13:08 left in the game.

Looking for Ryan Wingo on the sideline, Manning drastically underthrows the ball, and it’s intercepted by Ohio State’s Jermaine Matthews. OSU will take over on their own 32 with a chance to put this game out of reach.

Texas’ defense holds strong again, forcing yet another punt for OSU. The Longhorns will start with the ball at midfield.

Manning’s 4th and 1 QB Sneak goes nowhere as the Buckeyes hold strong. Still 7-0 Ohio State after Texas’ best offensive drive.

Manning leads the Longhorns down to the OSU 3 thanks to a strong rushing attack. 3rd and 3 coming up after the injury timeout.

Texas forces a three and out to begin the third thanks to a big play from Alex January and fantastic coverage from Malik Muhammad. They will start just past their own 30.

OSU fair catches and will start at the 25.

Sarkisian came out with the offense twice, but after two timeouts, a punt was called. OSU is pinned at their own 3 with 35 seconds left and two timeouts. That might be all we get for the half.

Texas’ defense looked elite again, stuffing the run and forcing OSU to punt after six plays. The Longhorns will ge the ball back after the two-minute timeout.

The Longhorns pick up two firsts, but Manning is sacked on a 3rd and long. Bouwmeester hits yet another great punt, pinning OSU at their own 2.

Texas makes a good stand on third down, but the West Virginia transfer RB is able to punch it in from just over a yard out. Texas trails for the first time all season.

True freshman Graceson Littleton makes two great plays to get off the field, but a facemask from Colin Simmons extends the drive and puts OSU in prime position.

Still no score, but the Buckeyes are driving. 2nd and 5 on their own 44 when we return.

Bouwmeester sends it to the opposing 20. Two great punts in a row.

Two drops for the Buckeyes on that drive, Texas regains the ball at the 25 thanks to a fortunate bounce for the OSU punter.

Two runs, a false start and a short gain lead to a Jack Bouwmeester punt. OSU is pinned at their own 8.

Sayin drops back on a play action and finds Max Klare near the sideline, but the ball is dropped. Texas gets away with one as both Klare and Jeremiah Smith were open on the fake.

CJ Baxter handoff goes nowhere as Arvell Reese stops him short of the line to gain. OSU will have plus field position in their first drive under Julian Sayin.

Didn’t see that work a lot last year.

Texas will begin with a bit of an advantage thanks to a good return.
