Thoughts on Colin’s decision?

“I always just try to support whatever he decides. He’s a pretty smart kid, so I actually respect whenever he makes a decision whenever he makes a big decision like this. Whatever he wanted to do, I was okay with. More importantly, I think he’s always set the precedent or always let everyone know I just want my mom and my brother to be good. With that being said, I think he made the decision based on that. I’m just happy for him. I’m proud of him.”

From mom’s perspective, what did Texas do for you to be on board with that decision?

“They have always supported my youngest son, Clayton, who is autistic. Just showed him a lot of love. When you are going to make a life-changing decision like going to college or picking a college or whatever, you also want to make sure they are welcoming your family. We’re going to be going to games and supporting Colin. Those are the people we’re going to have to see, especially on game day. Just happy about that.”

Can you talk about Coach Sarkisian?

“He is my guy! I love Coach Sark, I really do. Every time I’ve talked to him, he’s really made me feel like family. He’s just great. He’s just great. I’m really excited for him this season, for the rest of the team. He’s building a team I feel like that are going to be great. Look, they’re going to the SEC. That’s a win-win, right?”

Did you always see Colin going to a SEC school?

“I can’t say that I did. I didn’t know what that meant to be honest. I just kind of learned football maybe a year ago, started learning it. I recently figured out what these different divisions or conferences were. I don’t know if I can answer that one accurately.”

What impressed you about the University of Texas?

“They are very welcoming to my family. They just make sure we all feel like family. That we’re just doing well. I talk to Sark personally. That matters as well. A lot of schools that recruit, I don’t even know who the head coach is on a personal level. For him to actually reach out to me every now and then, sometimes it’s out of the blue! It’s never prompted. It’s like, ‘oh my goodness! Sark’s calling me.’ He’s always like, ‘let me know if you need anything or if you just want to talk or whatever. It doesn’t have to be about football.’ I respect that about him,”
