New RPM for Texas to land a three-star offensive lineman in the 2025 class

by:Charlie Williams05/22/24

Kyle Flood has a type. He’s always searching for Big Humans, and will go from sea to shining sea in order to sign them. Luckily for Flood, one Big Human that meets his standards for the Texas offensive line lives just a short drive up Interstate 35 from Austin.

Cedar Hill (Texas) O-linemen Devin Coleman, one-third of the Triple Threat Coleman triplets along with brothers Jordan and Isaiah, earned an offer from Texas in February of this year. That gave Devin and Jordan the opportunity to play together at the next level at an in-state school no more than a few hours down the road.

Devin, a player destined for the interior of the offensive line, spoke highly of his interactions with Flood during a recent trip by Inside Texas to Cedar Hill.

“It was amazing,” Devin said. “They mainly were just by to check up on us, stuff like that.”

As a result, the Longhorns are in a strong position for Devin, a 6-foot-5, 330-pounder. I’ve placed an On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine pick for Devin to end up at Texas with 65% confidence.

Devin Coleman recently made the short trip to SMU for his official visit to see the Mustangs. Both Coleman O-linemen plan to officially visit Austin from June 7-9. Devin has something he’s looking for during that visit.

“I say this a lot, but just being family oriented,” Devin said. “How do they treat others and how would they treat my family if we decide to go? That’s mainly what we’re going to be doing when we go on these OVs.”

Devin is ranked as the No. 120 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 179 prospect in Texas by On3.

Evaluation on Devin Coleman

Coleman is a big human who is flexible and has great balance for his size. He’s physical at the point of attack and tries to punish defenders with great pad level. At well-over 310 pounds, Coleman has good feet and shows the ability to come to balance and block in the open field. Versatile player likely destined for guard at the next level. Great on screens and on pass protection, mirrors the defender without losing ground.
