In this episode, Justin and Gerry discuss…
- Justin and Gerry begin with 2024 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive tackle and On3 four-star Brandon Baker, who is set to announce his decision on Sunday, September 24th. One of the nation’s top offensive linemen is down to Texas, Oregon, and Ohio State. Over the last six months and during two trips to Austin, Baker and the Horns have gotten much closer during that span.
- Justin and Gerry dive into wide receiver recruiting on the Forty Acres over the weekend. From Ryan Wingo, Dakorien Moore, Marcus Harris, and Andrew Marsh, Texas and wide receiver coach Chris Jackson and the Texas staff were tremendous, a sentiment echoed by all to Inside Texas.
- For Wingo, it was a family affair with eight members of Team Wingo to Austin. Ryan and his father spent time with Steve Sarkisian and his staff, but also with Duncanville (Texas) EDGE and No. 4 overall prospect in the Class of 2024, Texas pledge Colin Simmons. The On3 Five-Star Plus+ prodigy is the best in the nation at attacking the quarterback. Now he’s recruiting for the burnt orange. Wingo is expected to see Missouri this weekend.
- Moore is the one committed in the group where Texas is trying to flip. The LSU pledge was in Austin and told Inside Texas how the gameday experience is better and different. Solid to the Bayou Bengals, but more open than he leads on at this stage.
- Marsh is the Houston area talent and On3’s No. 3 receiver for the 2025 class who took in the UT-Wyoming game as well. And left knowing he likes Texas and will return.
- With Harris, this is Sarkisian and Jackson’s vision of a recruiting pipeline to Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif. Harris loves the offense, sees big things on the horizon in Austin, and is best friends with teammate and top Texas running back target Jordon Davison. He also was accompanied by his mother, who thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
- Justin and Gerry discuss other potential flips like Wardell Mack, Myles Davis, Weston Davis, and Corian Gipson, whom Justin visited last week and the Clemson commit Gipson is hearing from Texas and Terry Joseph on a regular basis.
