Texas now has two commitments from the state of Louisiana in cornerback Hayward Howard and defensive tackle Dylan Berymon, who pulled the trigger Saturday night. At this point, The Boot is considered an extension of East Texas as far the Texas staff is concerned. But, going into Monroe for Berymon and New Orleans for Howard isn’t quite the same as going into Baton Rouge for five-star Lamar Brown

Enhancing the home field advantage for Brian Kelly’s team is they’ll have the last official visit the weekend of June 20th.

Per the usual with Steve Sarkisian, he’s going to shoot his shot, anyway.

Along with the Texas official visit this weekend, and the LSU visit the last official visit weekend of the summer, Brown will have seen Miami and Texas A&M officially. The Aggies, along with LSU, have had the most buzz.

The recruitment will come to a head for Brown on July 10th when he makes his decision.

Despite being considered an athlete, Brown is being recruited by every suitor as a defensive tackle. Those suitors include Texas coaches Kenny Baker and LaAllan Clark, a Louisiana native. Clark, a former Ohio State Buckeyes coach, gave Brown his first offer.

Brown is ranked as the No. 7 overall prospect, the No. 1 athlete, and the No. 1 player in Louisiana in the On3 Industry Ranking. On3 ranks Brown as the No. 18 overall prospect, the No. 1 athlete, and the No. 1 player in Louisiana.
