This week, the rules remain the same. Or do they? Since there’s a Texas bye week, we don’t have to worry about Longhorn overlap. We’re able to pick any of the viewing windows and find four games in the same window to watch at once. We’ll give you a timeframe you should fire it up.

What a loaded week for college football. We almost need a double quad. Even Friday night is a banger with FSU vs. Virginia leading into TCU at Arizona State. Saturday morning is nice with USC/Illinois and Notre Dame/Arkansas. Though Saturday night has the biggest games—Georgia vs. Alabama and Penn State vs. Oregon—the rest of the night slate is lacking. So we’ve got a monster midday quad coming at you.

Name: Bye Week Bliss
Time: 2:30–3:30 CST

Game 1: LSU at Ole Miss (Rebs -1.5)
Game 2: Auburn at Texas A&M (Aggies -6.5)
Game 3: Ohio State at Washington (Buckeyes -7.5)
Game 4: Indiana at Iowa (The Fernando Mendozas -7.5)

Notes:
A coach’s daughter’s relationship has stolen the headlines from the Tigers/Rebels game, but the real story is Ole Miss going with Trinidad Chambliss over Austin Simmons. As is Brian Kelly’s insistence that everything is fine with an LSU offense that has looked clunky all season.

Auburn and Hugh Freeze will be pissed off after a rough officiating performance led to a defeat in Norman. But Mike Elko and the Aggies defense have had two weeks to prepare for Jackson Arnold’s pocket presence—or lack thereof. Arnold’s awareness of oncoming sacks reminds me of what Uncle Louis says to Aunt Bethany in Christmas Vacation: “you couldn’t hear a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant.”

Ohio State is number one, but it’s still Julian Sayin’s first true road test in a tough Seattle environment. It’s also a primetime chance for Jeremiah Smith to showcase his talents to the nation again. If this were the NBA, Washington would be one of my League Pass teams this year. Quarterback Demond Williams, receiver Denzel Boston, and running back Jonah Coleman are appointment viewing. The trio is usually buried in the late-night hours, but now they’ll be put to the test against Caleb Downs and company.

Iowa on the quad? Really? Their inclusion isn’t for the Hawkeyes’ offense, but for Hoosier quarterback Fernando Mendoza.

Movie Pairing (No Explanation Given): Go see Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another with Leonardo DiCaprio in a theater this weekend.
