Steve Sarkisian has plenty of speed at his disposal at wide receiver

There was some worry about how many fast players this Texas team had after a nice stretch of burners made their way through the 40 Acres. Worry no longer, Reel Analytics has verified that the speed is definitely still here. Let’s look at the fastest Longhorns this season.

Parker Livingstone was the first Longhorn to appear in the top 10 fastest players of the week, according to Reel Analytics. In week two he hit 20.3 mph versus the San Jose Spartans for the first touchdown of the day. Steve Sarkisian will be dialing up some plays to take advantage of that here soon.
The only other Longhorn to make the weekly top 10 list was Ryan Wingo last week against Sam Houston State. Clocking in at a third best 22.0 mph, he tracked down this deep ball from Arch Manning with some serious speed. It’s a wonder he didn’t have turf pellets melted to his shoes.
While this one isn’t from this year, DeAndre Moore Jr. is a burner too. Hitting 19.4 mph on this catch and run versus Georgia in the SEC championship. It’s only a matter of time before we see Moore’s speed return as a threat, and he has already shown a connection with Manning in the past.

This year, Wingo has 13 catches for 190 yards and three touchdowns. Livingstone has 11 catches for 232 yards and three touchdowns. Moore had 11 catches for 115 yards.
Arch Manning has plenty of speed at his disposal. With his ability to throw the deep ball, he’s going to use it. If we can see Wingo consistently hit that speed, with his size, that will be a tall task for the cornerbacks to handle him. Pair that with two other speedy WRs and it’s a dangerous bunch.
