Steve Sarkisian said Monday that Texas running back Quintrevion Wisner is not out for Saturday’s game versus UTEP, but he would label Wisner doubtful if he had to provide a designation.

“I’d probably say today, he’s doubtful,” Sarkisian said. “I’m not ruling him out. At this juncture of the season, I’m just not in a rush to push guys back out there if they’re not as close to 100% or closer. I just know how long this thing goes. I know what it’s going to look like in October, November, December, and hopefully January.
“Is the juice worth the squeeze right now? For Saturday, we’re rehabbing them. We’re trying to get him ready to go and then we’ll make a decision as we get closer to the ball game of what that looks like.”
On Saturday, Sarkisian mentioned the injury to Wisner allowed for him to play other running backs.
“Tre (Wisner), he’s got a leg injury. We held him today,” Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said. “We just didn’t think it was the right thing to do to force the issue with him. I wanted Christian (Clark) to play more, I wanted Jerrick (Gibson) to get opportunities, and so it worked out for us that way.”
