Texas baseball teams up with the Nolan Ryan Foundation to support Central Texas flood relief

Texas head coach Jim Schlossnagle and the Longhorn baseball program are teaming up with the Nolan Ryan Foundation to help rebuild baseball fields in communities affected by the July floods in Central Texas. The Nolan Ryan Foundation is challenging college fans across Texas to tag their favorite school when donating to see which program can generate the most support.

“I am partnering with the Nolan Ryan Foundation and challenging college baseball fans across the state of Texas to donate and help rebuild Hill Country youth baseball fields destroyed by the devestating July 4th flooding,” Schlossnagle said.

The support page says the following.

This summer, many Texans were impacted by the devastating flooding along the Guadalupe River. Now, the Nolan Ryan Foundation is challenging college baseball fans to donate and help rebuild Hill Country youth baseball fields destroyed by the floods. One hundred percent of all contributions from this fundraising campaign will go directly to the restoration of this vital community space that give Hill Country kids a chance to grow through the game of baseball. Donate on behalf of your college baseball team, and join us by giving back to the next generation of players!

Nolan Ryan’s son Reid donated $500 to help rebuild Ingram Little League. The Longhorn baseball program donated $100 to kickstart the burnt orange efforts.

The Longhorns join several other baseball organizations in supporting the Nolan Ryan Foundation and other Central Texas relief organizations, including the San Diego Padres and the Boston Red Sox, plus their minor league affiliates. The San Antonio Missions, San Diego’s Double-A affiliate, will wear jerseys from Center Point, Comfort, Ingram Tom Moore, and Kerrville Tivy High Schools during their
