Texas is aggressively seeking additions to their 2025 squad with an emphasis on guards, highlighting recent interest in Simeon Wilcher, a former top-40 recruit known for his slashing ability and athleticism.
Coach Sean Miller prioritizes players with multiple years of eligibility to foster team continuity, a contrast to more transient strategies.
The Longhorns are targeting Evan Boisdur, a standout scorer from France, who brings off-the-dribble scoring and athleticism, possibly as a primary scorer next season.
Dezayne Mingo from Marshall, known for leading the Sun Belt in assists, is being considered to fulfill the team’s need for a primary playmaker and facilitator.
While shooting remains a concern, Wilcher and other recruits are valued for their defensive capabilities and culture fit, which are essential for a balanced roster.
Looking ahead to 2026, the team is also pursuing elite high school talent like Christian Collins, a top-three national recruit whose NBA potential makes him a high-priority target.

Sean Miller is adapting his strategy towards modern basketball trends with more dynamic, movement-based offenses, focusing on threes and rim attacks.
With the frontcourt depth set, the focus remains on acquiring versatile guards who can handle the ball and contribute offensively.
Texas is not limiting its scope, tapping into international and cross-country high school talent, marking a broad, aggressive recruiting approach.
