The Longhorns did not receive a first-place vote in this week’s poll after receiving the majority in the preseason.
With just a bye week separating Texas from SEC play, the Longhorns have multiple highly ranked opponents left on their schedule. Their first SEC matchup of the year will be at Florida, which fell to 1-3 after a loss to Miami. They did not receive any votes in this week’s poll.
The Longhorns will then face No. 7 Oklahoma a week later in the Red River Rivalry, which may set up as a top-10 matchup in Dallas.
