Texas flips 2026 Cal LB pledge Rocky Cummings

2026 Carlsbad (Calif.) linebacker and three-star California pledge Rocky Cummings has flipped his commitment from the Golden Bears to the Longhorns.

Cummings spoke with Inside Texas’ Charlie Williams after the visit about what stood out most from his trip to Austin.

“Just talking to the coaches, getting a chance to meet them face-to-face versus talking to them over the phone, seeing what they’re all about, seeing what the program was all about, was really, really good,” Cummings said. “I enjoyed it. I enjoyed my trip a lot. Texas has some wonderful facilities. Fans are wild and crazy about football, but overall, I think it was a great visit. I just want to continue to build a relationship with the Texas staff. With signing day coming up, I was glad I got to check out Texas, and now I can weigh options.”

Cummings joins Tyler Atkinson and Kosi Okpala as linebackers in the Longhorns’ 2026 recruiting class.

Cummings is ranked as the No. 621 overall prospect, the No. 53 linebacker, and the No. 47 player in California according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. Rivals ranks Cummings as the No. 43 linebacker and the No. 49 player in California.
