After a tough overtime win against Mississippi State in Starkville on Saturday, the Texas Longhorns jumped two spots in the Week 10 AP Poll to No. 20. Texas took over spots previously occupied by LSU and South Florida, who each lost in Week 9.

Ohio State remained No. 1 with 54 first-place votes, Indiana remained No. 2 with 11 first-place votes and Texas A&M got a singular first-place vote at No. 3.

Week 10 brings on a new challenge for the Longhorns, who will finally return home after over a month on the road in October. Texas emerged 3-1 in its four SEC games, but the Longhorns haven’t seen an offense the caliber of No. 9 Vanderbilt, fresh off a home win against Missouri.

Georgia, Alabama and Ole Miss also find themselves in the top 10 out of the SEC. The Crimson Tide sits at No. 4, right behind undefeated A&M, with the Bulldogs right behind them at No. 5. Ole Miss’ win at Oklahoma jumped them one spot ahead of Georgia Tech to No. 7.

The Top 25 includes several other SEC teams, including No. 14 Tennessee and a three-team run in the late teens, early 20s with Oklahoma at 18, Missouri at 19 and Texas at 20. LSU is the only other SEC team to receive votes in the poll with 11.

Texas was ranked as the No. 19 team in the coaches poll, one spot lower than last week.
