Texas Longhorns Q&A: Defense is Good, Offense a Work in Progress

This week’s Q&A opened with some quick and minor team notes.
Still no Emmett Mosley or Jonah Williams in practice. DeAndre Moore didn’t practice on Monday but I was told the ailment isn’t serious. I’m not sure of his availability for this weekend. Sark is not going to rush guys to play UTEP.
Ty’Anthony Smith was the defensive player of the game. Arch Manning and Parker Livingstone shared the offensive award like they share their living spaces.
I hope everyone is enjoying the false fall weather.
After that, we got right to the topic du jour. The very dumb topic du jour, though the question might have been asked in jest. Might. You just never know.

Now, mentioning a female tennis star, from a time period when many IT readers were young, proved to be a massive unforced error.
The natural conclusion of said topic.

Fortunately most of the six pages of discussion centered on football. Unfortunately, much of that discussion was on the offensive line, Ryan Wingo, and offensive coaching.
This sums up a good portion of the O-line talk.

While fan frustration is somewhat understandable, September was always going to be a bit ugly as Texas found its offensive identity, built cohesion, and played a lot of younger players.

My overarching sentiment right now is to sit back, observe the process, and wait to see what’s put on the field in Gainesville. By then I believe we’ll see a much more unified offense with a much clearer identity.
If not, I might reassess what success will look like for this season. I’m not there yet, and in fact, really liked the improvement Arch showed in his second week.
