Texas moves to No. 21 in the Associated Press top 25

After a 23-6 win over the Oklahoma Sooners, the Texas Longhorns jumped back into the Associated Press top 25 for the week of October 12. Texas was ranked No. 21 and was one of 10 SEC teams in the rankings.

Oklahoma dropped from No. 6 to No. 14 after falling in the Red River Shootout.

Teams from Texas’ schedule or the SEC in the top 25 included No. 1 Ohio State, No. 4 Texas A&M, No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 6 Alabama, No. 9 Georgia, No. 10 LSU, No. 11 Tennessee, No. 14 Oklahoma, No. 16 Missouri, No. 17 Vanderbilt, and No. 21 Texas.

Texas moved up two spots in the US LBM Coaches Poll to No. 17. Teams from the Longhorns’ schedule in the top 25 of the Coaches Poll were No. 1 Ohio State, No. 4 Texas A&M, No. 7 Georgia, No. 13 Oklahoma, and No. 18 Vanderbilt. SEC teams in the top 25 were No. 4 Texas A&M, No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 6 Alabama, No. 7 Georgia, No. 10 LSU, No. 11 Tennessee, No. 13 Oklahoma, No. 16 Missouri, and No. 18 Vanderbilt.
