Texas Now Has Three 5-Star Players in the Rivals300

Bell, ranked No. 9, is a standout quarterback from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage. He’s considered one of the most natural passers in the 2026 cycle, with the ability to make big throws from any angle. He is out for the rest of the year.
Wesley, ranked No. 13, reclassified from the 2027 class and has quickly made his mark as one of the nation’s premier edge rushers. The Los Angeles (Calif.) Sierra Canyon product had a dominant sophomore season, showing off his strength and athleticism as a disruptive force off the edge.
Johnson, ranked No. 16, is a defensive lineman from Miami (Fla.) Northwestern who brings a compact, powerful frame and elite production. With nearly 30 tackles for loss as a junior, he’s one of the most active interior defenders in the country.

Right now, Rivals has released 16 five-stars. Out of the top 300 national players, three of those 16 already belong to Texas. By January, that number will expand to 32 five-stars, leaving plenty of room for more Longhorn commits to climb into the top tier.
With Bell at quarterback, Wesley off the edge, and Johnson in the trenches, Texas already has a 5-star at every level of the game — a strong sign of the program’s recruiting momentum heading into the rest of the 2026 cycle.
Other top 300 prospects include Tyler Atkinson, Derrek Cooper, John Turntine, Jermain Bishop, Samari Matthews, Chris Stewart, and Kosi Okpala.
