Texas projected to win the 2025 SEC Championship in the league's preseason poll

Ahead of its second season in the league, Texas was predicted to win the 2025 SEC Championship and is atop the conference’s preseason media poll. The Longhorns were the projected champions on 96 of 204 ballots.

The Longhorns received almost half of the first-place votes, with Georgia just behind at 44 votes. Alabama was third with 29 votes. LSU followed in fourth place with 20 votes. No other team received more than 10 first place votes.

The SEC Championship will be on December 6 in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Georgia, the 2024 SEC champion, was picked first in the 2024 preseason poll ahead of second-place Texas. The Bulldogs defeated the Longhorns in overtime.
