Texas moved above Vanderbilt, Utah and Michigan after the win against the Aggies. Texas has the H2H comparison over Vanderbilt, who has two losses to Texas’ three

The Longhorns have three teams separating themselves and an at-large bid for the final CFP 12-team bracket, as the final two bids are currently occupied by conference champion spots for Miami in the ACC and Tulane in the AAC. Texas sits directly behind Miami, as well as BYU, with Notre Dame and Alabama taking the final two bubble spots.

The Longhorns currently sit at 9-3, with losses to Florida, No. 1 Ohio State and No. 4 Georgia. Texas has wins over No. 7 Texas A&M, No. 8 Oklahoma and No. 14 Vanderbilt.

The SEC also has Ole Miss ranked at No. 7.

There will be one more College Football Playoff Ranking, taking place at 11 A.M. on Sunday, December 7th. The final CFP Selection Show will determine the 12 teams that make the College Football Playoff.

Given Texas’ spot in this week’s ranking, it is unlikely Texas will have any chance of making the College Football Playoff in 2025.
