Texas moved above USC and Georgia Tech, who both lost this past weekend, but fell behind Michigan, which beat Maryland this past weekend.
The Longhorns have five teams separating themselves and an at-large bid for the final CFP 12-team bracket, as the final two bids are currently occupied by conference champion spots for Miami in the ACC and Tulane in the AAC. Longhorn fans will be hoping for down weeks from teams like Michigan, Vanderbilt, Utah, BYU, Alabama, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. While Miami currently holds the conference bid, it likely won’t make the ACC Championship. Texas is also rooting against the Hurricanes.
The Longhorns currently sit at 8-3, with losses to Florida, No. 1 Ohio State and No. 4 Georgia. Texas has wins over No. 8 Oklahoma and No. 14 Vanderbilt.
