Following a 38-7 win over San Jose State this Saturday, the Texas Longhorns haven’t moved from their No. 7 position in the Week 2 AP Poll. The entire top seven from last week’s poll remained the same, though Oregon and Georgia flipped spots, with the Ducks moving up from No. 6 to No. 4.

The Longhorns did not receive a first-place vote in this week’s poll after receiving the majority in the preseason. Ohio State led with 57 votes, Penn State came in second with five, No. 3 LSU had two and Oregon secured one.

Looking ahead, Texas will face some of the top teams in the nation. Their first SEC matchup of the year will be at Florida, who fell out of the top-25 after a home loss to FSU. They are ranked 29th by total points. The Longhorns will then face No. 13 Oklahoma a week later in the Red River Rivalry, who just defeated previously No. 15-ranked Michigan in Norman and jumped five spots in the rankings.

Georgia and Texas A&M also find themselves in the top 25, with the Bulldogs sitting at No. 6 after a somewhat poor performance against Austin Peay this week. The Aggies jumped three spots to No. 16 after a win against Utah Staet.

The Top 25 includes several other SEC teams, including LSU, which jumped from No. 9 to No. 3 last week after a big win at Clemson. South Carolina is 11th, Tennessee 15th and Ole Miss 17th. Alabama remains ranked at No. 19, and both Auburn and Missouri head into the top-25, holding the No. 24 and 25 spots.

Texas was also ranked as the No. 7 team in the coaches poll, one spot down from last weeks No. 6 ranking.
