Texas remains No. 7 in AP poll entering conference championship week

The Texas Longhorns remained ranked No. 7 in the latest AP poll, though there was considerable movement head of Texas entering the month of December.

Ohio State dropped from No. 2 to No. 6 due to the Buckeyes’ loss to the Michigan Wolverines. Michigan moved up to No. 2 as a result. Georgia remained No. 1.

All three of Washington, Florida State, and Oregon moved up because of the Buckeyes’ loss. Washington moved up to No. 3, Florida State moved up to No. 4, and Oregon rose to No. 5.

No. 1 Georgia takes on No. 8 Alabama in the SEC Championship. No. 2 Michigan will battle No. 18 Iowa in the Big 10 Championship. No. 7 Texas will face No. 19 Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship. No. 4 Florida State will face No. 15 Louisville in the ACC Championship. No. 3 Washington will face No. 5 Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship.

The only other team from the Big 12 to make the ranking in addition to Texas and Oklahoma State was No. 12 Oklahoma.

The Longhorns were also ranked No. 7 in the Coaches Poll.
