Texas rises to No. 1 in the D1Baseball top 25

Thanks to the efforts of new head coach Jim Schlossnagle, Texas is No. 1 for the first time in three years. The Longhorns rose to No. 1 in the D1Baseball top 25 on Monday after taking 2-of-3 at Kentucky and after previous No. 1 Arkansas lost a series at Georgia over the weekend. The Longhorns are not only No. 1 in the nation, they’re in standalone first place in the Southeastern Conference.

Texas completed a 3-1 week during its rise to the top, run-ruling Houston Christian on Tuesday before heading to Lexington to battle the Wildcats. Texas won Friday’s game 6-3, lost in 15 innings on Saturday in a 5-4 defeat, then won the rubber match via a 5-4 Sunday win.
Texas hosts UT-Rio Grand Valley this Tuesday.
