Livingstone had a stellar performance in Texas’ 38-7 victory over San José State on Sept. 6, gathering four receptions while setting career highs in receiving yards with 128 and touchdown receptions with two. Recording his first career 100-yard receiving performance on Saturday, his 128 receiving yards also rank 11th on the UT freshman single-game list. With both of his touchdown receptions coming in the first quarter vs. San José State, Livingstone became the third Longhorn to have multiple receiving touchdowns in the first quarter of a game in the last 30 years, joining Jaxon Shipley (Sept. 29, 2012) and Joshua Moore (Oct. 9, 2021). QB Arch Manning and Livingstone connected on an 83-yard touchdown, which marks the longest passing play since a 90-yard completion against Oklahoma State on Oct. 21, 2017, and the 13th-longest in program history.
The 83-yard reception was the fourth-longest by a freshman in UT history and the longest since 2015 when John Burt had an 84-yarder against Kansas. Livingstone is the third Texas player in the last 30 years to have at least 100 receiving yards and two touchdown catches in the Longhorns’ home opener, joining Limas Sweed (2006) and Roy Williams (2003). Livingstone’s second touchdown was a 3-yard reception from Manning with 00:12 remaining in the first quarter to put Texas up 14-0.
