Consensus came quickly on pick No. 11. Over the previous few picks, Curtis Brown, Michael Huey, Blake Gideon, Eddie Jones and Tre Newton all received some discussion, but the No. 1 player still on the board to lead off the second 10 for all four staff members was Emmanuel Acho.“I just look at playmaking ability and to me Emmanuel Acho and Curtis Brown are those two guys at this pick,” Jeff said. “Even if I break down that argument I still go with Acho because he doesn’t scare the hell out of me like Curtis Brown does.”Clendon said he bet that the coaches would have either already taken Blake Gideon. “That’s a name that jumps out at me because I know the value that (the coaches) place on Gideon and I bet you when the Texas coaches do their draft, Blake Gideon is in the top 10,” he said.Bill said he would be willing to consider Gideon at this spot but went back to a conversation earlier in the draft about Gideon’s physical ability (vs. other players under consideration) to overcome mistakes. That settled it: Emmanuel Acho remained the pick.
