This Week in the SEC: It's a So-Con Saturday of sorts
The SEC moving to a nine-game schedule next season may mark the end of what’s been called “So-Con Saturday.” Almost every year ahead of rivalry week, SEC teams would schedule teams from the Southern Conference to provide a tune-up game before facing big rivals.

Fewer teams are going full “SoCon Saturday,” but members of the league have played a number of SEC teams this year. This week, Samford and Mercer get their opportunities to play with the biggest of boys.
Oh yeah, there are a couple of conference games happening, too.
