Top PFF defensive grades from Texas' 29-21 loss at Florida on Saturday

The Texas defense had its worst performance of the season in the Swamp on Saturday after UT’s 29-21 loss to Florida from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Here are the defensive grades.

DEFENSE

DL/EDGE – Cole Brevard, 66.7, Hero Kanu66.5, Maraad Watson, 62.3, Colin Simmons79.1, Lance Jackson, 65.8Colton Vasek60.4, Zina Umeozulu, 69.5, Alex January, 64.1

Simmons played well, especially in the second half, adding four tackles and one tackle for loss. Kanu led the group with six tackles and Watson added four stops. Overall, very underwhelming performance.

LB – Anthony Hill Jr63.1, Liona Lefau, 58.3, Tyanthony Smith, 81.1

Hill Jr led the team with 14 tackles, while Smith continued his strong play adding seven tackles and one tackle for loss. Lefau notched five tackles.

CB – Jaylon Guilbeau, 67.4Kade Phillips, 68.8, Kobe Black, 34.2

With Manny Muhammad out, the Texas corners were tested on Saturday. Guilbeau tallied five tackles and Phillips added four. Black didn’t register a stat.

S/N – Michael Taaffe, 83.0, Graceson Littleton, 57.4, Jelani McDonald65.7, Xavier Filsaime, 66.7

Behind Taaffe, Littleton, and McDonald, this group notched 23 total tackles, while Taaffe snagged an interception and Littleton forced a first-quarter fumble.
