T'Vondre Sweat named a Senior Bowl midseason All-American
Texas defensive lineman T’Vondre Sweat was named a midseason All-American by the Reese’s Senior Bowl on Wednesday. Sweat was the only Longhorn to earn the distinction and was one of four Big 12 players honored by the Senior Bowl.

Sweat, a super senior from Huntsville (Texas), was a member of the Senior Bowl’s preseason watchlist. This season, Sweat has recorded 18 tackles including 4.0 for loss with one sack. He’s been credited with four quarterback hurries and one pass breakup.
His best statistical performance in the 2023 campaign was when he had 5.0 tackles with 0.5 for loss and two quarterback hurries versus Rice.
In 54 career games, Sweat has 101 tackles with 37 of them solo, 13.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, 11 passes defended, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. His career high for tackles in a season is 30, which he recorded during last year’s campaign.
Sweat elected to return for his fifth season in Austin rather than enter the 2023 NFL Draft. He’s enjoyed a fantastic campaign, garnering a team-high defensive grade of 91.1 according to Pro Football Focus.
