Trevor Goosby, OT
“I’m handling it really well. I was prepared last year, that preparation really carried over into this year. I credit (Kyle) Flood, Kelvin Banks, and all the guys that have graduated — Jake Majors — they all helped me with my leadership. Going into a new starting role, it invites a new leadership role and I’m taking that on really well.”
“I don’t really have Kelvin to look to anymore. I’ve got young guys looking at me, so I’ve got to make sure I’m on my P’s and Q’s.”
“(Brandon) Baker is a real technician. He’s really patient. He’s a really smooth player. I just continue to tell him to just keep working hard every day and keep pouring into the little things. The little things change you as a player.”
“(Steve Sarkisian’s) energy is super infectious, and today we had elite energy. I thought it started with Sark. A team is only as good as their head man is, so he really brings in that kind of energy and passion we need.”
“We’re a whole new O-line. We have a new identity. Four starters are gone, so we really have to come together and find out our identity and who we are as a O-line.”
“Colin (Simmons) is a real problem.”
Jaylon Guilbeau, CB
“It’s been going smooth, just getting in the rhythm of playing corner. I’ve been at nickel for the last 3.5 years. Just getting into the rhythm of playing corner and getting my traits back. I played it in high school. Once I got here, I went to nickel. Just getting the fundamentals back and the small details.”
“Corner is easier than nickel because at nickel they have that two-way go. I feel like at corner, you’ve got a better advantage and you can use the sideline.”
“I talk to (Jahdae Barron) all the time. That’s my brother, so I talk to him, I call him, and I asked him what did you do at corner that I can do to help me get to the standard you were at? He was basically telling me go outside and show that you can cover.”
“You’ve got to have a killer instinct mindset. You can’t come out here and play around. You’ve got to treat it as a job. This is not for fun. I treat it as a job. I love what I do, so I’m going to come out here every day and work hard.”
“Kobe (Black) got better. Graceson (Littleton), he’s one of them ones. He’s going to do his job and get it done. One more guy, I’ve got to shout him out. Kade Phillips. He’s one of them ones, too.”
“I love fatherhood. I wake up to her every morning. I wake to my girlfriend every morning, tell them I love them, and tell them I’m going to work.”

DeAndre Moore, WR
“(Leadership) kind of came naturally. I had really great dudes in front of me, like I keep saying. (Jordan Whittington) was more of a vocal leader. I had (Xavier Worthy) and (Adonai Mitchell), who were more where I had to be a visual learner with those guys. I had to watch them more than anything. I think that outspoken leadership comes with being a leader.”
“One of them walk-ons is older than me, but I’m up there.”
On the differences between Arch Manning and Quinn Ewers: “One had baby wheels and one had super wheels. Oh, you know.”
“Arch is zipping that thing and getting it there to you.”
“(Ryan Wingo and Parker Livingstone) are getting older. It’s not just about football. It’s about life. They’re becoming real men. They’re learning things.”
“Personal? First and foremost, I want to win a natty. I think we’ve gotten to the doorstep two years in a row. Two too many for my liking. I want to win a national championship. We got short in the SEC championship. I want to win the SEC championship. As far as personal, I want the Texas touchdown record. I want at least 1200 yards. And, I want to win the Biletnikoff.”
Ethan Burke, EDGE
“For me, this offseason has been great. Just to have another year for me to develop my body. I think I really figured out what it takes to be elite at this level. For me, I think taking another step in camp and leadership wise, and just elevating my game this summer. Bringing in (LaAllan) Clark has been huge. I’m looking forward to the season. It’s been a great summer.”
“From Barryn (Sorrell), such a great teammate for me. A guy who I’m so grateful to have playing with and being on the other side of for a whole year. He just taught me work ethic. He’s a guy who puts his head down. He doesn’t talk. He doesn’t showboat, he’s not flashy. The media may not love all that because he’s not the most flashy guy, but he’s such a hard worker. He’s been such a consistent player for this program. Just to learn from him has been great. I couldn’t ask for a better mentor.”
“For me, just applying myself every drill and every rep. I think that was huge. Mentally, what do I have to do right now? Being able to slow the game down. With Coach Clark, we broke down what should I do here. What should my first step, second step, and third step be like. Getting back to the fundamentals was huge.”
“For us, we have so many guys returning. A lot in the back end. They were young. We’re still young as a team, but there is so many people on the D-line that are just young and hungry. The corners are hungry and trying to go to the NFL.”
