Where the Arkansas Razorbacks rank in the 100s (and where Texas could try to attack)

Every week, Inside Texas takes a look at the statistical areas where the Texas Longhorns’ opponent ranks poorly. Sometimes, the regulations are lenient for this piece but in general the goal is to list all the areas where the team lining up across from the Longhorns rank in the 100s in the FBS. The list can be short at times.

This week, there was no issue finding areas where the Razorbacks are in the bottom 37 of the FBS. Arkansas is in the 100s in over 15 different categories with most of the glaring deficiencies on defense. However, there are a few special teams categories that made the list as well. Arkansas is a one-phase team, and their stats show it.

Total defense – No. 121 – 426.5 ypg

  • The Razorbacks have allowed at least 380 yards to every Power Conference opponent

Rushing defense – No. 114 – 181.2 ypg

  • Only Alabama A&M failed to eclipse 100 rushing yards against Arkansas

Passing yards allowed – No. 106 – 245.3 ypg

  • Every Arkansas opponent except for Alabama A&M had at least one passing touchdown against the Razorbacks’ defense

Team passing efficiency defense – No. 111 – 146.23

  • Seven opposing passing attacks have completed at least 60% of their passes against Arkansas

Scoring defense – T-119 – 32.3 ppg

  • Last week’s game where LSU scored 23 was the first time the Razorbacks held an opponent under 30 points since September

Turnover margin – No. 128 – -1.00

  • Six of Arkansas’ eight turnovers forced this year have been interceptions. Arkansas hasn’t recovered a fumble since August 30.
