Columbia (S.C.) Heathwood Hall Episcopal cornerback Onis Konanbanny is one of the top defensive backs in the 2025 class. On Monday afternoon, Konanbanny narrowed his recruitment down to 10 schools.

Florida StateLSUMichiganNorth CarolinaOhio StateOklahomaOregonPenn StateTennessee and USC made the list.

“I have great relationships with all those schools,” Konanbanny told On3. “Each school plays great defense, develops cornerbacks like me, and most importantly, offers great degrees that can set me up for life. Those are the reasons those 10 schools are on top.”

Out of the 10 schools on Konanbanny’s list, he has visited half. The No. 28 cornerback in the country has taken trips to Tallahassee, Ann Arbor, Chapel Hill, Columbus and Happy Valley. He is working on locking in dates to return to North Carolina and he is eyeing a first visit to Knoxville, On3’s Chad Simmons reported.

Konanbanny has not yet visited USC.

This recruitment is down to 10, and more visits will come soon. It is likely he will trim his recruitment once again, before committing. His decision will come fairly quickly.

“I want to commit by the summer,” Konanbanny said. “It will come down to relationships, development and degree.”

On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has the North Carolina Tarheels as the favorite to land a commitment from Konanbanny at 27.5%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
