The USC Trojans have picked up a commitment from speedy wide receiver Romero Ison.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound East Coast prospect landed an offer from the Trojans back in January, just days after receiving a school visit from head coach Lincoln Riley. The Baltimore City College prospect grabbed offers from a number of local schools, including Maryland, Penn State, Pitt and others. Florida also extended an offer. He took visits to Penn State, Pitt and USC in quick succession at the end of March and into early April.

He’s a four-star prospect in the 2025 On3 Rankings and comes in as the No. 294 overall prospect and No. 41 receiver. He’s a three-star prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings.

Ison will bring plenty of speed to the Trojans. As a junior, he posted a 10.85 in the 100 and a 21.91 in the 200. He also runs the 4 X 100, 200 and 400 relays.

He did a little of everything on offense and special teams as a junior. He rushed 46 times for 465 yards (10.1 yards per carry) and 2 touchdowns. Ison caught 69 passes for 1.438 yards and 15 touchdowns, including a 99-yard score. He also averaged 24.8 yards per kick return and 23.7 yards per punt return, with a kickoff return touchdown and two punt return touchdowns.

USC will likely need to land multiple wide receivers in this 2025 recruiting class. The Trojans signed just one high school receiver in the 2024 recruiting class and the Trojans have several in the 2023 class that could be on track to eventually leave early for the NFL Draft.
