2025 4-star EDGE Chad Woodfork names top nine schools
Humble (Texas) Summer Creek four-star EDGE Chad Woodfork has trimmed his recruitment down.
On Wednesday, the 6-foot-4.5, 220-pounder announced his top nine schools: USC, Texas Tech, Houston, Georgia, Baylor, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State and Texas.
Woodfork is the No. 55 overall prospect and No. 6 EDGE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 10 player in Texas.
On3 is even higher on Woodfork than the others in the industry, tabbing him as the No. 3 edge rusher in the 2025 cycle.
Woodfork has had a fairly quiet recruitment to date as he has only visited two programs, Texas and Texas Tech. I would expect for him to ramp up his recruitment this spring and summer.
On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has the Texas Longhorns as the favorite to land a commitment from Woodfork at 50.8%. Texas Tech comes in at second at 23.3%.
RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.
It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

“At 6-foot-5 and north of 230 pounds, Woodfork is a force setting the edge in the run and is enormously powerful and stout at the point of attack,” Spiegelman wrote of the EDGE in October. “Woodfork’s length and power are just a few of the reasons why On3 is high on the Houston-area EDGE defender. He’s a traitsy prospect that is just scratching the surface of his potential up front.”
Woodfork has an On3 NIL Valuation of $71K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
