BREAKING: 2024 Florida safety Jarvis Boatwright Jr. commits to USC

USC has landed a commitment from Clearwater (Fla.) four-star safety Jarvis Boatwright Jr.

Boatwright Jr. is the No. 428 overall prospect and No. 38 safety in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 63 player in Florida.

Boatwright announce his commitment immediately following his official visit to USC. His commitment was the second of the day joining Englewood (CO) Cherry Creek offensive lineman Hayden Treter, who announced his pledge this morning.

Prior to his commitment, it was believed Florida was the leader in the clubhouse for his commitment. In fact, Florida led the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine at 82.7%.

Boatwright still has three official visits on the docket for June. He is set to visit South Carolina on June 9, Tennessee on June 16, and Florida State on June 23. It is unclear whether he still plans to take those visit now that he has committed.

On3 NIL Valuation for Boatwright

Boatwright Jr. has an On3 NIL Valuation of $29K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

More on the current class for USC

To date, the four other commitments in the 2024 class are Los Angeles (Cal.) Sierra Canyon four-star Xavier Jordan, Lake Oswego (Ore.) Lakeridge four-star tight end Joey Olsen, McKinney (Tex.) three-star running back Bryan Jackson, and Englewood (CO) Cherry Creek three-star offensive lineman Hayden Treter.

Also, as of right now, there are more than 20 prospects in the class of 2024 who are currently favored in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine to land with USC. A good portion of them visited USC this spring and/or are planning official visits in the summer. 

The Trojans are currently set to host 35 official visitors in the month of June, primarily scheduled for two major visit weekends. The staff will hope for similar success as last cycle when they landed more than 10 of their June official visitors. 

USC finished the 2023 class ranked inside the top-10 and Lincoln Riley and staff have started off on the right foot with an opportunity to repeat that feat in the 2024 class.
