USC has cashed in on the recruiting trail, landing a commitment from class of 2024 Los Alamitos (Calif.) three-star cornerback Isaiah Rubin.

The 6-foot-1, 170 pound defender chose the Trojans over Oregon, Utah, and Colorado.

Rubin is the No. 495 overall prospect and No. 50 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 38 player in California.

Rubin is the first commitment in the 2024 cycle for USC since July 1.

Rubin is the 16th commitment in USC’s 2024 class. He is the eighth commit on the defensive side of the ball. He joins Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star Marcelles Williams, West Hills (CA) Chaminade High four-star Marquis Gallegos, Clearwater (Fla.) four-star safety Jarvis Boatwright Jr., Humble (Tex.) Atascocita three-star Braylon Conley as the defensive backs in the class.

The commitment for the Trojans can largely be credited to defensive backs coach Donte Williams. Rubin has long spoken highly of Williams and his recruiting efforts. That relationship helped USC win out in the long run.

“USC is one of my tops schools now because of Coach (Williams) and what he has done with me,” said Rubin previously. “Me and Coach Donte have been building a very strong relationship lately and getting closer and closer day by day!”
