Four-Star Running Back Shahn Alston Commits to USC

USC gained another valuable addition to its No. 2 ranked 2026 recruiting class on Saturday from Shahn Alston. Alston, the No. 133 overall ranked player, No. 13 ranked RB and No. 6 player in Ohio in the 2026 On3 Industry Rankings, revealed his pledge to the Trojans at the Navy All-American Game in San Antonio.
The 5-foot-10, 205-pound tailback visited USC the weekend the Trojans defeated Nebraska back on November 16.
“This visit was great,” Alston told On3. “It was the best I’ve been on yet. I already had high interest in USC, but this trip put them over the top. I’d say USC is a front-runner in my recruitment along with Penn State and Wisconsin.”
From the moment he landed in California, Alston fell in love from USC. He spent the majority of his with running backs coach Anthony Jones Jr., but also considerable time talking to head coach Lincoln Riley.

“The meetings I had were definitely the biggest highlight. I built great connections and learned a lot,” said Alston. The USC campus tour was also great. I got a good feeling for the campus and could see myself living there. Lastly, the game was great. I loved seeing the running backs get after it.
“Me and Coach Jones mainly talked about stuff outside of football. We still had time to go over my film along with some of USC’s to show me how I’d fit in the offense too. Coach Riley’s meeting with me was also about how I’d fit in the offense and the benefits of coming to USC.”
USC has the No. 3 ranked 2026 recruiting class with previous pledges from Sermons, four-star Edge Braden Jones, three-star CB Madden Riordan, four-star CB Brandon Lockhart, four-star Edge Xavier Griffin, four-star WR Ja’Myron Baker and three-star ATH Joshua Holland
