Bellflower (Cal.) St. John Bosco four-star cornerback Marcelles Williams has officially wrapped up his high school career, finishing with another state championship appearance. Williams has developed into a special talent in the secondary, noted by his invitation to the All-American Bowl hosted by NBC Sports and being named to MaxPreps All-American lists in his career.

Williams is the No. 100 overall prospect and No. 13 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 11 player in California.

Williams played in 41 games in high school career, primarily across four seasons, his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.

In those 41 games, Williams racked up 155 total tackles, 104 of which came solo. He also accumulated 18 pass deflections and four interceptions in his career.

On3 Evaluation of Williams – Cody Bellaire (Scouting and Rankings)

Instinctive, playmaker at the corner position. Has terrific change of direction and burst, fluidity is very apparent when forced to flip his hips. Does an excellent job working in his back pedal and driving back down to the football, closes space very quickly. Ball skills are solid, will get his hands on his fair share of passes but nothing too far out of reach from his frame. Attacks receivers at the catch point and at the line of scrimmage, not afraid to be physical. Comfortable and willing tackler around the box, likes to stick his face into traffic. Top end speed is good, not blistering but he can run with most receivers. Frame is a bit thin but not a big concern. Very high floor player here that projects to field corner, could potentially develop into a boundary corner, but his skillset fits well to the field.

Williams Personal Life (On3 DB)

Marcelles Williams has two older brothers, Max and Macen, who played football at USC and Arizona State. Williams first emerged for California football powerhouse Bellflower St. John Bosco as a sophomore when he recorded 42 tackles and seven pass breakups. He then became a lockdown defender for the Braves in 2022 with 46 tackles and four pass breakups. Williams also had a knack for making big plays at key moments, including two interceptions in the CIF Open Division state championship game against San Mateo Serra. He was honored for his big season by being named to the MaxPreps Junior All-American team.
