USC may have some more good news on the horizon as Palo Alto (Cal.) Archbishop Riordan offensive tackle Kalolo Ta’aga announced he will be making his commitment in just a few days on Dec. 17.

His commitment decision will be announced at 6 PM PT/8 PM CT.

His four finalists are USC, Arizona, Cal, and Utah.

Ta’aga, 6-foot-7, 265 pounds, is fresh off an official visit to USC and the Trojans seemingly hold all the momentum in his recruitment.

Ta’aga is a former San Jose State commit who has picked up serious power five interest in recent months. USC entered his recruitment on November 28, extending an offer and immediately working to get him on campus.

Ta’aga has taken official visits to USC, Utah, Arizona, Cal and San Jose State.

This is an especially interesting recruitment as Ta’aga is a first year football player, previously in a basketball background. As raw of a prospect as he is mixed with his size, he has a very, very high ceiling and potential for his future.

Ta’aga is currently ranked as the No. 815 overall prospect and No. 50 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 58 player in California.

In total, Ta’aga holds offers from USC, Utah, Arizona, San Jose State, Florida, Arizona State, California, BYU, UNLV, Fresno State, and Utah State.

On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has the USC Trojans as the favorite to land a commitment from Ta’aga at 89.5%. WeAreSC’s Scott Schrader logged a commitment prediction in favor of the Trojans on Dec. 11.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

USC’s 2024 Class

There are currently three offensive lineman committed in the Trojans’ 2024 class. Should Ta’aga commit to USC, he would join Clearwater (Fla.) Academy International four-star interior offensive lineman Jason Zandamela, Arlington (Tex.) Martin three-star offensive lineman Makai Saina, and Englewood (CO) Cherry Creek three-star offensive lineman Hayden Treter.

USC’s class is currently ranked at No. 18 in the 2024 cycle.
