WeAreSC On3 5/28/22: New QB commit, Crawford's top five, and Salute to Troy returns

WeAreSC On3 is a daily three-point briefing recapping news and notes surrounding USC Athletics. Today, we take a look at USC picking up a key QB commitment, four-star cornerback Maliki Crawford’s top five schools, and the return of Salute to Troy.
New QB commit
Yesterday afternoon, USC picked up a commitment from former BYU QB Jake Jensen.
After spending 2020 with the Cougars, Jensen played at Contra Costa College last season. He led the Comets to a 9-1 record on the year, completing 57.9% of his passes for 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions. In addition, he rushed for 105 yards and four touchdowns at Contra Costa.
Jensen will be immediately eligible to play for the Trojans this season, and he will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Crawford’s top five
On Friday, four-star cornerback Maliki Crawford revealed his top five schools, and it is a Pac 12-heavy bunch. USC made the cut for Crawford, along with conference rivals UCLA, Oregon, Washington, and Cal.

Salute to Troy returns
USC recently announced that the annual Salute to Troy rally will return with an in-person format for the first time since 2018. In 2019 and 2021, the event was cancelled due to a lack of fan interest in the program. USC did hold the event in 2020, but it was virtual due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
One notable change is that this year, the rally will take place on June 18, during USC’s big summer recruiting weekend. In previous years, it was held just a week or two prior to the season kicking off.
