Point taken. But it doesn't matter when Paul an 83% FT shooter misses BOTH ends of a 1 and 1.
True, but that's the way it is for most away teams, unless you're the blue chippers. Then you get the fouls called more evenly.
The officiating in the league just sucks.

We rarely drive to the basket and we are super physical on defense. Do we ever see an opponent shoot more fadeaways than us? I don't think so.
Honestly, I didn't even recognize these officials. Who were they? Have they ever called a B1G game before?
Wrong take. Pike is saying you have to defend without fouling. Not complaining about officiating. His message is to his players. Listen to the man’s interview.

Rutgers doesn't have players that have the skill set to get fouled when they drive to the basket.Fans will always complain about referee callls including the Indiana fans during this game.

The offense we run doesnt equate to racking up fouls. We dont drive to the basket and have trouble creating shots in the post.

I have been tough on the refs a ton. I don’t agree they were bad tonight. The Cliff call was awful. The flop on Hyatt was also bad. With that said, the FT disparity was because we settled for a ton of midrange jumpers (Caleb) and a ton of 3s. Not to mention we missed 2 front end 1 and 1s.

I don’t agree with this, for the season as a whole. Look at our games vs Iowa MSU etc we were continually getting down hill and not getting foul calls. This game was different though, we settled for a lot of jumpers

He never has said that. He clearly says we have to defend without fouling, since fouls lead to FTs and teams then "can't defend the foul line." I'm not saying he's never upset with the officiating, but you can't say he's upset with it based on what he says in post-game pressers (he's too classy to do that and it's a defeatist attitude to take with his team).
He said ONE thing, ONE time after ONE game that was sort of an admission he was unhappy with the reffing in the game ("the refs are trying to do a good job" or something like that). And even that was sort of a spontaneous answer to a question and not much of a shot.
This line, "you can't defend the foul line", that he's said multiple times is clearly not talking about officiating.

When he says “discrepancy” he isn’t sending messages to his players. Two mentions of can’t defend foul line and discrepancy. Ignore that awful 4th call on Cliff.

Pick a fight? I'm just posting my opinion, man. Pike is a biased observer of officiating like all of us here and almost certainly feels the team gets the short end some time. Virtually every game has some bad calls. I don't really see why Pike would be calling out officials in his press conferences?

All I know is Indiana was 17/24 from the line and RU was 6/10 from the line. 6 point game on the road but nothing to see here.

Seventeen RU fouls vs 13 Indiana fouls. Hardly much difference. The better team won.

Officiating aside, they took 24 FTs on 48 FG attempts and we took 10 on 58 FG attempts. That is a huge difference.
