Okay... rather than continuing the Bengals thread, let's see if this NFL one can be resurrected. I do have a few thoughts on the Bengals franchise... maybe later, though.

Any Vikings fans here? That had to hurt. I wanted it for Zimmer's sake. First time I've seen the "laces out" situation get so much attention, since Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Props to the kicker, as he didn't throw the holder under the bus.

Looks like the Packers might've solved a few of their issues. Should be a good one when they go against AZ. I think GB will pull it off, and it'll be vs. Carolina for the NFC crown.

In the AFC, Denver beats the Pitts... and I like KC to continue their win streak, with the upset @NE.

I've tried.

If it's not the Titans, Bengals or Steelers, no one really cares.

Not sure who GB is going to throw to. Redskins did have great play from Cousins, but no defense. And they played 6 games against one of the worst divisions this year. Someone had to win that division and it was them. Not sure these was anything REALLY there that was a threat, though I think the Redskins are definitely trending up. Philly with a new coach, Giants got rid of their HOF coach, Eli is only getting older. Dallas is Dallas, Romo is Romo.. That division is the Redskins' for the next few years.

I think Denver has a real shot at the Superbowl. Peyton got his rest for an aging body all year. And there's no doubt that everyone plays better with Peyton under Center.. I mean EVERYONE. It's like one giant morale boost with him. Even if he's got a noodle-arm at this point, and I'm sure he'll throw some bad picks.. he's still better all-around than Oz.

Plus, Steelers are hurt, bad. And honestly, I don't think they move on if it's against any other team. But it was a division match-up, and the Bengals are the Bengals (sorry guys).

New England still has O-line issues, but Brady gets that ball out so damn fast, that it sometimes doesn't matter. They will have to win through the air the rest of the way. Bad o-line, no real RB's, decent to great front-lines the rest of the way = no run game for Pats. I think KC has a great shot to win.

But.. New England probably cheats, cause they always do.. so NE and Denver in championship. Still taking Denver.

Hate to say it, but Brady will do what Brady does, and it will be NE from the AFC, after they beat Denver. The NFC could be interesting. Would like to see the Panthers there again, but SEA is on quite a roll too, and you can't count out Rodgers.
I will predict SEA over NE.

Yeah, I'd have preferred your Jets as that 6 seed. In the end, just another rough chapter for Cincy fans. I did get together with friends for 11 of the 17 games, so the season was fun, at the least.

My picks were just gut feelings. Just "feels" like those teams have it, right now.

Agree with your Denver assessment. I'll probably pull for Peyton to win... and then do an Elway-- retire, and go out on top.

Hmmm... That would be a lot of ammo for the "NFL is fixed" crowd! I'd even raise an eyebrow on that one.

Though, it sure would be interesting. The Seahawks try to make up for giving last year's SB away.

Arizona and Carolina are just too good right now. Not sure Seattle and Greenbay can pull the upset.

Wish the NFL would go ahead and dissolve the Browns. I've been a fan since the Kevin, Eric, and Bernie days, but it's really hard to stay a fan. Never should have came back into the league, and will always be a joke of a franchise.

Well Hue Jackson is a great hire fore them. Honestly kind of surprised he accepted the position.

What's up with Josh Gordon? I mean if he can play next year with Barnidge and the Oline remains intact they should be able to field a solid team. The defense is already there.

Obviously they have pieces they need for sure but they also have players in the right position too.

The Rams-to-LA story must suck for the younger fans in St. Louis that have grown up with them the past 20 years.

RE: Browns move--- At the time, I guess you could hold on to the fact that you were going to get a team back in 3 years. What'd you do on Sundays during those lost seasons? Did you (somewhat) keep up with the Ravens, or pull for another team, or?

Now, you've got a new coach and the #2 pick in the draft. Any thoughts on who they should take?

So during that three years without the Browns I didn't watch or follow a single NFL game. I was so angry and disgusted. It actually turned me back to MLB for those three years. I guess it was a case of "be careful what you wish for". They should have never brought another team back to Cleveland. I could have learned to like the Ravens. lol

Jared Goff or the kid from Memphis. Seems if they were smart they would go after RG3 on the cheap and get help else where. They really should go the cold weather team route and make sure defense and a run game are priority #1.

I'm ready for some football! All four games seem like they will be very competitive. The only blowout might be if KC is having an off night, and the ball bounces NE's way. Still, I'm sticking with my earlier (KC, Denver, GB, Carolina) picks, although I'm not up to date on any of the injury reports.

What's the over/under for how many times the Tebow-to-Thomas OT win gets mentioned during the Pitts-Denver game?

So much for my Upset Special. KC made a game of it, but NE just didn't make many mistakes.

I hope GB-AZ goes down to the wire.

Tennesse keep Mularkey. Interesting.

If you don't see GB/Sea and NE/Denver coming I got to wonder if you've followed the NFL for the past few years.

LOL! Yeah... I know. Just trying not to think that the "fix" is in.

I guess I did get caught up in KC's big turnaround of their season... but it was a little like picking a horse at the track, just because it had a cool name.

The Titans management is as clueless as the Browns'.

Nothing to be excited about by keeping Mularkey.

I don't know about that on Mularkey. Could have done a lot worse. I think he was just easy because he was in place and offers consistency for a QB. It isn't flashy or exciting but it isn't bad.

Damn. I barely took a sip of my OT beer, and it's over.

Down goes GB... makes me 0 for 2.
This is why I don't do Vegas.

This is my thinking as well. Certainly not the way I would've gone. It's a very unwhelming hire. He has proven to be a subpar HC. But I don't think he will be a detriment to Mariota.....actually, I think he will be good for him. (But, of course, there were other options that would've been good for him and probably would've been a better HC)

What I hope he does is rehire Lebeau to run the defense. Get Lebeau to pick the defensive staff. Then overhaul the offensive staff. Get a friggin free agent OL or 2 or 3. Then nail the draft.

Actually predicted that Tennesse takes Tunsil LT from Ole Miss who is a lock for being one of the best LTs for along time. Of course a few people predict Bosa too.

Odd playoff game. Thought for sure GB was winning. Amazing game and it's wild to think all of that is avoided if Sam Shields doesn't have a ball go thru his hands with 5 to go up 13-10 in the 4th.

My preferred draft scenario would be for the Titans to trade down a few spots. There isn't a huge talent that's gonna command an RG3 type trade but someone will likely be willing to give up a 2nd rounder.

Tunsil is a great pick and I would definitely like it. The thing is that I would hope that they would already filled as many holes as is financially available prior to the draft. So the OT spot may be taken care of by then. Another thing is that Lewan has graded out to be a good LT thus far.......and good RTs can be found later in the draft. So, selecting Tunsil may be extreme overkill....and may prevent you from maximizing whole team impact in the draft.

I had no real dog in the fight, even though I picked the Panthers-- I'd have loved it if Seattle pulled off the onside kick. Then, they get the score to go to OT...

just would've been interesting to see how Carolina handled the pressure of a possible Oilers-sized choke-job.

Agreed. They played tight the whole second half honestly. Seattle just lost it so early which isn't normal for them.

Really want to see one last Peyton run but man he is a shell of himself!

Couple big drops by the receivers haven't helped Manning. Still, I say he gets the 3rd QTR to pull something off, but if he sputters and Pitts gets another TD... does Denver coach roll dice and bring in Osweiler in the 4th to try to spark something on offense?

I do expect Peyton to pick it up, and maybe Denver's D will get a big TO, too.

Pitts caught huge break with how that muffed punt turned out.

Have to wonder if Osweiler's running ability is going to trump Manning if Pitts gets into the end zone. Time is running out.

THERE'S THE BIG TURNOVER!!!

Huge TO leads to TD +2. IMO, saves Kubiak from making a really tough decision.

Pitts with 3 mins and 3 timeouts... plenty of time for plenty of things.

That'll do it.

NE @ Denver
AZ @ Carolina

Top 2 teams from each conference.

I'll say NE vs. Carolina in SB 50.

If Megatron does follow through with retirement, how long does he have to sit before signing with another team? That is the end goal IMO.
