The one nostril nose clear from Maldonado at the plate had to be the worst I've seen.

Raise your hand if you would rather have Segura in that 7th spot right now. Not going to argue with Rob, but he seems very stubborn.

eh, they haven't gotten a lot out of Stott or Segura in the WS.

I suspect Topper has Stott 7th, Segura 8th, and Marsh 9th so that he doesn't have back-to-back lefties in Stott and Marsh.

So sick of hearing about the Astros' "underdog", "overcoming the odds", and "redemption" stories. Altuve has a long successful postseason history; his slow start against the Mariners is irrelevant. Smoltz must have forgotten that the Astros are the 100+ win team and were the prohibitive favorites. They lost ZERO games in the American League playoffs and didn't lose in this postseason until game 1 of the World Series. They don't also get to be the underdogs who "turned around" their postseason LOL o_O:rolleyes:

Why was there just an extended delay of action?

Did someone run on the field?

and if you think of it, if Stott were batting 8th then you could potentially have Stott, Marsh, then Schwarber (batting 1st), so that would be 3 straight lefties. As it is, Houston brought in Abreu to face Marsh (he hit him), but then he faced Schwarber. Abreu is really tough on lefties.

The Phillies got out of the "runner on third nobody out" 7th inning jam!

That said, the Astros had 106 regular season wins; they don't need bloops like Gurriel's. 😬

Weird game with neither team being able to hit with RISP.

I guess everyone is a bit tense.

Segura with a single with men on 1st & 2nd, and the Phils plate a run, and have 1st & 3rd with 1 out in the bottom of the 8th.

3-2, Astros.

Houston is making a pitching change

3-2, Astros, after 8.

Pressly got Marsh on a K, and Schwarber hit a sharp grounder that the 1st baseman got. If he wasn't holding Segura on 1st, I doubt that he would have gotten the ball.

So annoying...call it a great play as much as you want, but the ball going straight to Mancini is purely LUCK...

Why not have Marsh squeeze Bohm in? Don’t understand not trying to get that run home.

It was Castellanos on 3rd. Bohm had struck out earlier in the inning.

The Phils rarely play small ball. Many times in this thread they've been blasted for not doing so. (There was 1 game in September, I think, where they surprised us and did play small ball.)

Beyond that, Pressly's ball has a lot of movement on it. If Marsh had missed the bunt, then Castellanos would have been a sitting duck.

Nice play by Bohm to get the double play, when Houston had 1st & 2nd and 1 out in the top of the 9th.

Last opportunity in this game for the Fightins.

Let's Do This!!!

This close to upsetting a heavily favored team and it could be decided by a Schwarber hot shot right at someone and a Realmuto hit about 2 feet short of a homerun.

Yeah, when you consider two well hit balls that could have turned the tide in both the 8th and 9th, but great defensive plays. But hey, this is not over. Hopefully we'll be watching on Sunday.
