Bayern and Tottenham came to an agreement. Now, apparently, it’s up to Kane to stay or go.

Mbappe seemingly to Real Madrid.
Tough choice for him. It's almost a guarantee he wins a trophy there, but he'll get good money over the summer too if he waits and he could stay in England and set the all time scoring record. For the Spurs I imagine they probably wouldn't mind getting some money out of this?

What is your preference? Regardless, being this late in the game isn't great for Spurs.

Any talks of a late replacement if he does end up being sold?
Haven’t seen any discussion for a possible Harry Kane replacement. He would increase his salary significantly by going to Bayern, but he still has a year left on his Spurs contract so there is the danger he goes for free in a year.

As far as personal terms go, The Athletic has previously reported that Bayern will offer Kane £25million all-in per season, the equivalent of £480,000 a week, which would more than double his current basic salary — so no issues there.

Harry Kane has agreed to join Bayern Munich and personal terms are in place on a proposed four-year contract. The England captain, 30, is now waiting for a green light from Tottenham Hotspur to travel for a medical and to complete the transfer. The Athletic reported on Thursday that Tottenham had accepted a proposal worth more than €100million (£86.4m, $110m) from Bayern.

Sorry, friend. It’s not easy dealing with these defections.

That's a tough one, but if he was going to go then you couldn't let him go for free next season. Use that money wisely and it is what it is. Might be a tough go for this season, at least early on.

Yeah, Richarlson instead of Kane does not have the same kind of impact

Seems to be conflicting information, suggesting that Caicedo prefers Chelsea.
I guess that is the reason Tyler Adams move fell through at the last minute for Chelsea? Pretty crappy if they strung Adams along to pull this, but Chelsea has been all over the place the last year or so.

First weekend of 2023-24 competition, and below is the TV schedule. After several years of getting Peacock for free, I guess I'm going to have to add it to my cable package if I want to catch most of this season's competition. smh

Friday
3:00 pm EDT -- Burnley vs. Man C. (USA Network)

Saturday
7:30 am EDT -- Arsenal vs. Nottingham Forest (Peacock)
10:00 am EDT -- Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Luton Town (Peacock)
10:00 am EDT -- Sheffield U. vs. Crystal Palace (Peacock)
10:00 am EDT -- AFC Bournemouth vs. West Ham U. (Peacock)
10:00 am EDT -- Everton vs. Fulham (Peacock)
12:30 pm EDT -- Newcastle U. vs. Aston Villa (NBC)

Sunday
9:00 am EDT -- Brentford vs. TottenhamHotspur (Peacock)
11:30 am EDT -- Chelsea vs. Liverpool (Peacock)
Well, I guess Newcastle-Aston Villa is the one on tap for me today.

Arsenal v. Forest on the ‘cock now. Gunners lead, 2-0, 39th minute.

EDIT: Total domination by Arsenal. 86% to 14% possession to Arsenal.

As a Tottenham and Dortmund fan, I shall be at the laundromat on Sunday during the Spurs.

I would participate in a Bundesliga thread if there is interest.
I see zero reason to start a separate thread (and would much rather expand this particular one, iywmo.) If you feel a need to accommodate the #subjectlinesmatter fascists, just ask @Tom McAndrew to edit the subject line, easy peasy.

Also, Real Madrid is playing on ABC at 3 today. It looks as if ABC will be carrying Spanish League matches regularly.

Newcastle 1-1 Aston Villa at 12’. Newcastle came out like gangbusters and AV was lucky to not be down 2-0. And then Villa scored on an amazing sequence, just beautiful soccer.
