Liverpool 2-1 Bournemouth at 36’, pk. Salah’s penalty kick was initially blocked but he put in the rebound. I thought it was a weak call, myself. Edit Saw the highlights at the half and it was the correct call.

Liverpool 2-1 Bournemouth at 60’. Liverpool will play with 10 the rest of the way, as MacAllister just now got a straight red.

That aged well. Liverpool 3-1 Bournemouth at 62’. Neto allowed an easy rebound, a poor showing there.

Tottenham 0-0 Manchester United at the half. Spurs hit wood twice in the same sequence, and United had Fernandes muck up history’s easiest header.

@RyanSnyder -- not an impressive start for your Everton squad. Villa up 3-0

Though this was impressive at Liverpool yesterday:

I must admit that I receive too much joy from watching Chelsea suffer this bad.

I was not happy with the PK. The rules are that the player taking the PK must have a continuous motion. They can not stop during their approach. If they do, it becomes a FK for the defense. However, over the past few years, I've seen a number of players on PKs really push the envelope on what is (or is not) a continuous motion, and what is (or is not) coming to a stop.

Nice debut Caicedo! Way to seal the defeat. #badchoice

interesting

I like the concept, but the yellow seemed harsh. If refs are consistent, then precedent has been set and you better not waste time. But, if the yellow was more an exception and not the rule then we are in line for a very confusing season with interpretation playing a key role.

I don't mind it at all as long as it's consistent. We saw it in week 1 with yellow cards for teams sitting there on throw ins. Nevermind what keepers get away with. Just be consistent with it is the only thing I ask.

Chelsea 3-0 Luton Town, FT. I have the feeling that the Hatters will have very few happy days this season.

Just got notification Bournemouth and Tottenham match has been postponed. No reason given but they are still reporting pregame on USA network right now.

Well game is apparently still on as notification was from ESPIN, no wonder.

Yeah, 13’ in.
Bournemouth 0-1 Tottenham at 17’, a glorious sequence, Saar to Maddison. God, that was sublime. I’m off to the gym in a few minutes so you’ll have to muddle through the rest of the match without me.
