184: #3 Bernie Truax vs. #2 Lenny Pinto (Nebraska) -- I'll use LP

Can Truax change things from the dual meet outcome?

Per 1
Bernie with a quick shot (right off the whistle), nothing. Truax with single, LP counters, a flurry, nothing. Nothing thru 1:30. LP shoots and briefly has a knee, nothing. Stalemate with 54 sec left. Pace has slowed, but Truax seems active. LP reaches, nothing. End

Per 2
Truax takes bottom. Truax to his feet, tries to turn, and is out in 10 sec, 1-0. Truax with a single, loses it, then LP counters, and OOB with 1:33 left. LP sort of shoot, and Truax sort of counters, nothing. 1 min left. Truax reaches, nothing. End. RT @ 10 sec for LP

Per 3
LP takes bottom. LP explodes and is out in 2 sec, 1-1. Truax in on a single, has it elevated, but loses it. LP kind of shoots, nothing. Truax with a single to a double and gets the TD on the edge, and they are OOB with 1:12 left. 4-1. LP explodes again but Truax stays with him. LP works up and hits a roll for the esc then tries to shoot, nothing. 4-2. 45 sec left. LP shoots in and gets a single, then Truax counters, nothing 30 sec left. LP shoots, nothing. LP shoots, nothing. Stall warning on Truax, but there's the buzzer. 4-2 DEC for Truax!!!

Quite a different match from the dual.

197: #1 Aaron Brooks vs. #4 Silas Allred (Nebraska) -- I'll use SA

Perhaps another match where AB wears my fingers out with all his TDs. ;)

Per 1
AB with a single off a throw-by for a quick TD, 3-0. Then he cuts him, 3-1. Brooks works an underhook, nearly has it but SA works the whizzer along the edge, but AB frees it and gets the TD, 6-1. AB working an arm bar. He keeps changing what he's doing with the other hand. AB working for a tilt, and a stall warning on SA. End. RT @ 1:51 for AB

Per 2
SA takes bottom. SA sits out, AB on his toes pressing into the shoulders. AB working a half, switches to a cradle and he turns him. He's close to a pin, but can't quite get it, and then SA works to his belly. 4 NF makes it 10-1. Stalemate with 0:19 left. End. A rideout. RT @ 3:51 for AB

Per 3
AB takes neutral. AB with a double but they are OOB with 1:24 left. RT is locked. AB in on a single, and works behind for the TD, 13-1. Brooks cuts him, 13-2. SA soft of shoots, nothing. 45 sec left. SA iron a low single on a re-shoot, nothing. 25 sec left. End. With 4:01 of RT, it's a 14-2 MAJ for Aaron Brooks!!!

How did AB not have any back points with the fall so close?

285: #1 Greg Kerkvliet vs. #4 Yaraslau Slavikouski (Rutgers) -- I'll use YS

Per 1
Kerk with a very quick double for a TD, 3-0. They are on the edge, which makes the options limited. Kerk with a nice ride going, and RT goes over 1 min. Kerk keeps trying different things on top, but hasn't been close to a tilt. YS not doing much of anything, and he's hit with a stall warning. Now a stall warning on Kerk, so a stoppage with 55 sec left. Kerk flattens him, and then works a crossface for a bit. Stall call on YS makes it 4-0. End. RT @ 2:53 for Kerk

Per 2
YS defers, and Kerk takes bottom. Kerk with a really quick switch and is out in 2 sec, 5-0. YS sort of shoots, blocked, then Kerk counters with a single. They are on the edge, but then Kerk pulls him back in and gets the TD, 8-0. YS is flattened and not doing much. Kerk isn't that active either. End. RT @ 3:47 for Kerk, so RT is locked

Per 3
YS takes neutral. Not much from either guy thru 30 sec. Or thru 1. Kerk reaches, nothing. End. With 3:47 in RT, it's a 9-0 MAJ!!!

PSU puts 7 into the finals -- the most they've ever had in the B1G Tournament
