Thanks! I wonder if they have a few more like that in them tonight. Are there more winners bracket tonight or only consolation?Joey O wins 8-7
You're welcome. Cotton and Catka are still in the winners bracket, and Clark, Barbosa, Pinto, SCW in consolations. Joey O may also have another match tonight, not sure but Track has him going against Consiglio of Stanford in consi 2.Thanks! I wonder if they have a few more like that in them tonight. Yeah, it's odd. Is he really injured or was he not really practicing?Oliveri looks like he's completely gassed and hanging on for dear life every third period. Is he smoking cigarettes in the locker room between matches?
This is the new(er) thing these days. I think it started when AJ Ferrari won his NC with a thigh-pry and spiral ride clinic. Didn’t even try to turn the Pitt guy just kept bumping him the length of the mat until they were out of bounds then got the reset. Chewed up the clock. Saw kids having a ton of success with it at NJ states because refs aren’t calling stalling. They are going to have to come up with a rule at some point like a 5 count if you are on top with no activity or attempt to turn.I just watched the 1st period of the Shapiro (Cornell) match. Gets the takedown in 15 secs then proceeds to ride the rest of the 1st. He doesn't come out to the side once or even attempt to turn his man. Just defends against the standup, actually just hanging on waiting. Not a single caution as he just waited for Miller to try and stand up to counter. Do better refs.
Idk y it sticks w me but after Smith beat Volk and got b10 freshman of week. WNG said he hopes the accolades doesn’t get to him… and coincendetally that was the moment he peaked prior to the downswing… this also happens w Shawver after his B10 title/AA, Poz w his 4th place.. can never start getting comfy…. Either way as some have pointed out, w Knox coming in, unless Knox goes 133, not sure how Smith gets back in the lineup unless he really bulks up somehow..Smith is eliminated. Disappointing tournament for him. Doesn't seem like out coaches can get these guys ready to attack and be aggressive.
It's obvious whatever Goodale's doing isn't working and he can't figure it out. While we should be wrestling at our best, others are while our wrestlers slump.Clark eliminated. TF 16-1 by Gioffere who he beat 3-2 in TB2 n the dual. Abysmal.![]()
133?I don’t know if we can blame 133 and 149 on coaches. Some guys just don’t have it
Nah Buxton is washed up. Donnie wasn’t ready at RU. Columbia has some of the worst facilities and higher academic standards and look at how quickly that program went from a joke to Ivy Title.Love seeing our best wrestlers in other corners working big upsets. We could use some of those guys on our staff.
It was idiotic to ever let Pritzlaff out of the building.
Well 133 was an AA, so Shawver had it.. he had the hunger that year.. was hoping he had better results, being nationals being near his hometown and all…I don’t know if we can blame 133 and 149 on coaches. Some guys just don’t have it
I was on insane amounts of copium when I wrote my brackets and picked him to make R12 again. 1 AA and 2 R12's wouldn't be a career to sneeze at. But instead....Well 133 was an AA, so Shawver had it.. he had the hunger that year.. was hoping he had better results, being nationals being near his hometown and all…
Soldano pointed out, in an interview, one of his main reasons for transferring out was the loss of Donnie… he also said he didn’t feel he fit in to the team chemistry or something..Nah Buxton is washed up. Last year's Clark would have beat the sh*t out of this year's Clark.I don’t know if we can blame 133 and 149 on coaches. Some guys just don’t have it
That one seems to clearly be a work ethic issue.133?
The guy who is a former AA, B10 champ, and 4x qualifier?
He also wasn’t startingSoldano pointed out, in an interview, one of his main reasons for transferring out was the loss of Donnie… he also said he didn’t feel he fit in to the team chemistry or something..
If Knox doesn’t end up being in the Ash/Suriano tier we going be in trouble.. (some ppl here putting Harer on this tier too but I wanna wait and see before blowing up expectations).Hopefully next year we take a leg up next year so the Knox. This is an awful showing
Yes. RU in general is a place where it's easy to get distracted by how much is offered around it. Sounds like Oklahoma's pace was better fit for Brian. Certainly has made for some better wrestling than his final matches at RU.Soldano pointed out, in an interview, one of his main reasons for transferring out was the loss of Donnie… he also said he didn’t feel he fit in to the team chemistry or something..
Why not? He beat SCW this year in a dual and so far, looking better at nationals… or is this improvement bc of the transfer/ change of environment? He also wasn’t starting
Ferrari proved last year at CSUB that you can finish pretty high without any elite training partners. Maybe Anthony can do the same next yearIf Knox doesn’t end up being in the Ash/Suriano tier we going be in trouble.. (some ppl here putting Harer on this tier too but I wanna wait and see before blowing up expectations).
I don’t know if that dual was an accurate indicator. Seemed like there was some plot armor action going on lol. But on serious note overall, I think SCW has higher ceiling and was allegedly pounding soldano in the room. Why not? He beat SCW this year in a dual and so far, looking better at nationals… or is this improvement bc of the transfer/ change of environment?
