trent richardson made famous? I actually met his dad about a month ago and he was a nice guy. Typical parent though and talked about all of the talent the bears have. I didn't think it was the thing to do to tell him that the problem with all of the talent is with the grey matter driving that talent.
but he has no business being on the field yet. We were playing a lot of freshmen this year, some of them ready, some of them not so much. Prewitt qualifies as the "not ready yet" crowd.
Golson also could be put in that category. He's raw, just playing on athletic ability alone. You could say the same for Brassell. He's got a ton of talent, but he played both sides this year just on instinct and athletic ability, little to no technique at all yet.
Hopefully Prewitt will develop and not be made to look like such a fool in the future.

By that I mean of course of the 2011 signees. I was surprised that Prewitt (although a Dandy Dozen) was playing.
You're right that he had no business being on the field. Obviously the transition from 1A academy to the SEC was way too much for him. He took some of the worst angles to the ball I've ever seen and at times just froze like a deer in the headlights.
As for Maroon Eagle's question about redshirts, UM didn't redshirt hardly anyone this year. That's going to bite them in the *** in 2015.

in state to OM, you'd see at least enough talent from the 2008 class from when Croom was here and the first 2 classes when Mullen started his rep for not recruiting well.
But all we hear about is freshmen who arent ready to play.
Seems like to me Mullen is guilty of losing 2 recruits that are difference makers in Brassell and Johnson, but the rest seem to have been big names on signing day but in reality are no where nearly as good as advertised.
I'm sure the response will be that the coaches failed to utilze them. And if that is the case, UM should be as least as good or better than we have been for the last 2 years the day a better coach walks on the field in Oxford. There should be no talk of this lack of talent crap.
If it's there and he's lost the number of recruiting battles with you that are truely meaningful, your next coach should be walking into a great situation.
Mullen's recruiting reputation might be justified in many respects, but it's also enhanced by the idea he's missed getting some kids that arent nearly as good as we all thought. Which isnt really losing at all. </p>

Whoa. I think you're going to be right about 2015 too... Hmmm... and they're hosting Fresno State (that should be a win) and are playing at Clemson (probable loss). No other nonconference games scheduled yet-- but they'll probably get a Sun Belt team (maybe South Alabama) and a 1-AA team.
