Yeah, ok lol. They went toe to toe with a Franklin team that made it to the 2AA western finals that was even bigger and more physical than Robbinsville.

A Murphy coach told me they definitely win it that season if Cox doesnt get hurt, let alone Roberts (FB) and Kent (QB). It was basically the same Murphy team that won a state title in '13, just a year older.
Lol..Should bode well for this years Knights..basically the same team except more skill players and a year older.

Galaviz was great! Rushed for 330 yards against murphy.
He was a good back but some of that perception is molded by the truly elite line in front of him, Galaviz was better on defense. Galaviz was shutdown in the playoff game that season, 17 carries for 50 yards.

Great gets thrown around too easy. The Robbinsville o-line was great, Galaviz was in the very good category as a back.

Sorry man, but you literally have no clue! Everyone has opinions and rightfully so, but if you think he was healthy that game, refer to the first sentence. If you really want to know how good he was, just watch the last carry in his HS career.

Seriously? It's been 7 years ago, if you think I honestly remember those kind of specifics for a different team from a game that long ago then you overestimate my memory. Just so we're clear, I'm sure everyone in Robbinsville remembers that Murphy's fullback played that game one week after coming back from a 3 month layoff from a torn MCL. Nope? of course not and why would you, was nothing to do with your team and you won.

I honestly don't even care about the stats one way or the other, your guy brought out the stats, so I went looking through the stats for those games on MaxPreps trying to jog my memory a little more. What I care about is the eye test and I stand 100% by what I originally said, Galaviz was a good back but Matheson was the star of that team. And it's the same thing this year, Hooper is a good back but Collins is the star. I don't see a thing controversial about either of those statements.

Cox doesnt get Murphy the win in 14.
Score probably be the same both games.
Yeah, I'm sure the ESPN 3 star RB wouldn't have made a bit of difference, none. I'm sure having him out there over the freshman that had to be pulled up off JV to take his place wouldn't have made a lick of difference, not a bit 😄. You're acting like those were blowout games, Murphy lost the first one by 9 without their starting RB (best player) and FB. Murphy lost the playoff game by 8 without their starting QB and RB (best player). So tell me BK, does Robbinsville beat Murphy in either of those games without their best player and another one of their starting skill players out? No, but according to you it made no difference in the result. Right..

You know back then I might not have, but now if I think Robbinsville has the better team or the more talented team I will own it. Robbinsville had the better team in '15 and '19 and even though they didn't beat Murphy that season, I think they had more talent in '09 too. It's highly likely that you will in '22 and '23 as well, we'll see. But you will never convince me or anyone associated with Murphy that Robbinsville was more talented than a healthy Murphy in '14. Like KnightInShiningArmor said, both sides are going to see it their way and there will be no adjustment of position.

I'll close with this, one day you will live it BK. I dont wish injuries on any team but one day Robbinsville will be in the position Murphy was in back '01 and '14 and when they are don't go changing your tune. Sorry for helping to derail this thread, was not my intent.

You know about every in grown toe nail Murphy had back 20 years and you throw it around ever chance you get.

Nope I dont think Cox would of made a difference. I've said that for years.
I believe I might watch that game again today.

If we're talking HS backs I would have Cruz ahead of Cox.
Cruz was touched by 7 or 8 Murphy players and still ran a 60 yr td. Gage couldn't of done that. Two totally different backs. If Murphy had a Cruz that year you might of beat Rville. That's the type of back it would've took. A GREAT back like Cruz.

If Skyler would have been on the 2015 team we would have been back to state champions of course we should have won that game anyways but i digress.... also he should of started in 2013 as well. Dont know what Dee Walsh was thinking in letting Crisp continue out the year as starting QB. He should have been benched for the rest of the year after fumbling the handoff near the goaline in overtime against Swain. Poor coaching decision there by Walsh.

Skylar was starting FB in 13. If he would've played QB who would've been FB?
Crisp was a good passer and could run.

Moral of this thread....Robbinsville has had the BEST running backs, BEST fullback, BEST quarterback, BEST offensive line, BEST coaching staff, BEST fan base, they are also VERY DEEP....I mean they are undoubtedly the BEST, the GREATEST.
I keep quiet on here most of time...just an avid reader of thoughts and opinions of all things football. But my head hurts from how hard I roll my eyes reading these post. This year has been particularly out of control.

If we can hold on to the football and get a few turnovers maybe be I'm still thinking 31-14.
Walsh will pull the starters as soon as he can.

We haven't really got any place to flap our gums, and it would be foolish for us to do so honestly. Like you said, we're just all super proud of our boys and where they are considering the circumstances. If I was to make an argument for the Wildcats in comparison to other schools, it would be this idea that Rville is supposedly the best pound for pound team. They may be the "best" team, but I disagree wholeheartedly with the pound for pound analogy. The reality is that Andrews does more year in and year out with less than any other program in this state, particularly the last few years. That is a fact. And that's indeed something to be proud of. And frankly, we know that in order to win, we will have to play a flawless game for four whole quarters and hope the Knights have a bad night somehow. That reality is not lost on us, so it's not worth bragging about just to possibly end up looking like a fool.
I don't think you will find a Robbinsville fan anywhere that says anything bad about Andrews...Ive always felt like they were more part of Graham County than Cherokee County ..one ridge separates us..probably only a few miles as a crow flies

What has Andrews done the past few years?

Today's Asheville Citizens is showing both Andrews backs with 800 yds each..In 4 games..Is that correct?
For what it's worth, Maxpreps has Weaver with 576 and Wilson with 556 through 4 games. i think the pair of them had almost 400 against Hayesville. I don't remember the stats from the Swain game but they were probably similar, maybe a little less.

Interested comparing Andrews and Robbinsville stats on Max Preps. Andrews has 3 players with rushing attempts and Robbinsville has 10.
